History

 

1938  Notebook bindery Hakucho-Do was established in Tokyo.

1957  Haruo Ito established the Ito Paper Factory in Tokyo’s Sumida Ward.

1982  Company name changed to Ito Bindery Co., Ltd., with Toshio Ito as the managing directory.

1988  A new headquarters was completed, with an auto-stitching line introduced for increased bookbinding volume.

2009  Ito Bindery’s original Drawing Pads and Memo Blocks went on sale.

2010  The Good Design Award was given to the Drawing Pad and Memo Block.

2011  The Drawing Pad was sold at the MoMA Store.

2013  CRAFTED FOR LEXUS collaboration products with Toyota Lexus were released.

2014  Masaki Ito (current managing director) became the managing director.

2017  The Drawing Pad and Memo Block are sold at Margaret Howell stores in Europe and Japan.

2019  The Ito Bindery Notebook went on sale in Japan, Europe, and North America.

2023  Opened a retail shop inside the Ito Bindery factory.

2024  The Note Piece goes on sale in Japan, Europe, and North America.
